By Zoila Palma: The family of baby Raquel Quiñones is urgently appealing for public support as they seek specialized medical care for her in Mexico.
Raquel has been diagnosed with hearing loss and has shown minimal response to sound and stimuli since April 2024.
Doctors have recommended immediate speech and hearing therapy, along with further testing to determine the severity of her condition.
She may also require implant surgery — a potentially life-changing procedure only available in specialized facilities in Mexico.
Her mother shared that they have already traveled to Chetumal for a CT scan and are in Mérida for additional evaluations.
However, the costs of testing, travel, and treatment have placed a significant financial strain on the family.
