By Breaking Belize News Staff: Christian Usher, 33, a convicted arsonist was fined $2,175 for setting fire to a $30,000 Isuzu belonging to an Asian businessman.
Usher, who was out on bail, appeared in court unrepresented on Wednesday and was charged with arson. The fine was initially $2,500 but mitigating factors such as Usher pleading guilty to the crime early worked in his favor and he was given a deduction.
An outstanding fine of $140 from a previous charge was ultimately his doom as he could not settle the old fine and was sent to prison. He will spend two months in jail.
