By Aaron Humes: Police have reported the removal of an arsenal, including an AR-15 rifle, from the Lake Independence area on Tuesday.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Stacy Smith gave details: “On Tuesday, December 30, at around 3 p.m., an intelligence-led operation carried out by police of the Special Branch and officers of Precinct 2, Eastern Division resulted in the discovery of an AR-15 rifle, 105 5.56 rounds of ammunition, two drum magazines, 7.45 rounds of ammunition, and two bulletproof vests. These items were found after a search in a mangrove area of Nutmeg Street in the Lake Independence area of Belize City.”
The items were seized and labeled as found property, as no one claimed them.
