Applications open for Belizean educators to teach in U.S. schools, with additional demand for Special Education positions

Teachers from Belize can now apply to teach in U.S. public schools in areas such as elementary education, science, mathematics, and special education for early learners.

Applications are now open for Belizean teachers to join U.S. public schools.

An informational session was recently held in Belize City with Jeff Seaby, Participate Learning’s International Recruitment Director, who praised the professionalism of Belizean teachers and expressed his delight at the country’s beautiful landscape.

The positions will be in schools in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, under contracts that permit legal residence and work in the United States for a minimum period of two years, with working conditions equivalent to those of U.S. public school system teachers.

Participate Learning oversees the recruitment process, guiding Belizean teachers through every stage, from application to visa suppot, to ensure a smooth transitiion into U..S. classrooms.

According to Ronald Ramírez, Recruitment Manager for Latin America, the program not only opens doors to professional growth in the United States but also enriches teachers’ pedagogical skills within multicultural learning environments.

More than 60 Belizean educators have already embraced this opportunity, highlighting the strong interest in international teaching experiences.

Successful applicants earn salaries aligned with U.S. public school standards, ranging from US$41,000 to US$55,000 (BZ$82,000–BZ$110,000), along with health insurance, airfare, and family relocation support.The employment benefits package includes health insurance, airfare, and the possibility of traveling with a spouse and minor children.

The program places particular emphasis on recruiting Special Education teachers, a field in high demand due to its complexity and the specialized support required for diverse learners.

To apply, interested educators must have at least two years of full-time teaching experience after obtaining a university degree, be currently employed, possess a valid driver’s license, and be available to reside in the United States for a minimum of two years.
