Amir ‘KingMir’ Rudon triumphs over Mexican Alejandro ‘El Niño’ Pacheco in ‘When Worlds Collide’ Boxing Card

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Amir ‘KingMir’ Rudon continued his impressive winning streak by defeating Mexican boxer Alejandro ‘El Niño’ Pacheco in the headline bout of the When Worlds Collide Boxing Card, held at Swift Hall in Belize City last Saturday. The card, promoted by Tres Reyes Promotions, featured a series of highly contested bouts that showcased the talents of fighters from Belize and Mexico.

In the main event, ‘KingMir’ Rudon, hailing from Belize City, emerged victorious against Alejandro Pacheco in an eight-round super lightweight clash. Rudon secured a unanimous decision win, with judges James Ramos and Rony González scoring the fight 80-72, and Judge Carlos Rodríguez scoring it 78-75, all in favor of Rudon. This victory extended Rudon’s undefeated record to eight wins, including three knockouts, with no defeats.

“Given his record, it is expected that Rudon will fight for a regional championship in 2025,” President and Commissioner of the Belize Boxing Council Javier Romero told Breaking Belize News.

In another professional bout, Ruben Lezama from Ciudad Cardel, Veracruz, claimed victory over Jose Lazaro of Veracruz, Veracruz, by technical knockout at 1 minute 11 seconds of the fourth round.

The professional fights also featured Roger Ambrosio from Champotón, Mexico, who narrowly defeated Sherman Galvez of Belize City in a four-round welterweight bout. The judges’ scores reflected the close contest: Judge Ramos scored it 39-37 in favor of Ambrosio, Judge Gonzalez scored it 39-37 for Galvez, and Judge Rodriguez scored it 39-37 in favor of Ambrosio.

The event also included three amateur bouts, which saw impressive performances from local fighters:

  • Japhet Sankar of Belmopan triumphed over Brian Garbutt Jr. of Belize City.
  • Marlon Jenkins of Belize City secured a win against Wilbert Delgado, also of Belize City.
  • Brian Paniagua from Cowpen, Stann Creek, emerged victorious against Eldrid Ulloa of San Juan, Stann Creek.

Amir ‘KingMir’ Pacheco’s win, along with the exciting bouts in both professional and amateur categories, highlighted the thriving boxing talent in the region. The anticipation builds as fans look forward to Rudon’s potential regional championship fight next year.
