American Eagle’s Billionaire Jay Schottenstein attends screening of Shyne Barrow’s documentary; expresses interest to invest in Belize

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On November 14, 2024, American Eagle’s billionaire and philanthropist Jay Schottenstein attended the special screening of The Honorable Shyne, a bio-documentary on Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, in New York.

According to Barrow, Schottenstein’s interest is in manufacturing, tourism and real estate.

Schottenstein, known for his leadership roles at American Eagle Outfitters, Designer Brands Inc. (DSW), and Value City Furniture, engaged in discussions with Barrow about potential investments in Belize.

Schottenstein, who has led American Eagle since 1992, has helped expand the company into a global leader in casual and affordable apparel, launching successful brands such as Aerie, which recently surpassed $1 billion in revenue.

In addition to his business success, Schottenstein is a committed philanthropist, particularly within the Jewish community, supporting various educational, religious, and cultural initiatives.

The Honorable Shyne documentary will be available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+ starting November 18.
