By Zoila Palma: The Ministry of Immigration held a mobile hub in Houston, Texas last week.
About 300 Belizeans were served during the Mobile Passport Hub, appointments and walk-ins alike, through a smooth and carefully coordinated workflow.
“But beyond the numbers were conversations. Stories. Gratitude. Pride.
Many Belizeans shared that renewing that document restored not just validity, but confidence and peace of mind,” the Ministry said.
The Ministry of Immigration says that parents stood proudly as they applied for Nationality by Descent for their children, knowing that their Belizean identity is now formally recognized. That pride was visible and contagious.
Minister of Immigration, Governance and Labour, Kareem Musa was present throughout the Hub, personally greeting Belizeans, listening attentively to their concerns, and spending meaningful time immersed in the Diaspora community.
His presence reinforced the Government’s commitment to accessible, people-centred service beyond Belize’s borders.
Also forming part of the Immigration Delegation were Chief Executive Officer Tanya Santos and Director of the Nationality and Passports Department, Dayna Blades, whose leadership and oversight ensured the Hub operated smoothly and efficiently.
The hub provided an opportunity to see the officers of the Ministry beyond the traditional office setting.
The mobile hubs bring essential services closer to Belizeans abroad, and they strengthen the human connection between the Ministry and the people it serves.
The Ministry thanked the Belize Diaspora Houston Association for their exceptional hospitality and partnership.
