By Aaron Humes: A shooting incident occurred in Santa Elena, Cayo, late Thursday night, resulting in one reported death. According to reports, a gunman allegedly attempted to kill someone with a shotgun, but was fatally shot instead.
Reports of shots fired were made around 11:50 p.m. A dark-skinned male person was shot fatally with one gunshot wound. A shotgun and some shotgun cartridges were retrieved from the scene.
There is speculation that the incident might be connected to a recent fatal stabbing, and the gunman might have been targeting someone in the yard where he lived. However, these claims are still unconfirmed and awaiting further details.
The police are currently investigating.
