By Breaking Belize News Staff: Edwin Edward Flowers, known as “Drive,” the alleged Co-Leader of PIV, along with Gaston Alfred Barrow and Kenyon Kareem Dominguez, have been remanded to prison after they were arrested on Saint George’s Caye during a police raid which uncovered a firearm, ammunition, and a significant quantity of drugs.

The trio, aged 41, 25, and 32 respectively, appeared before a Senior Magistrate in Court #3 on Thursday. They faced six criminal charges, including possession of an unserialized .223 rifle, possession of 21 rounds of .223 ammunition, and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply. The drugs seized included 2,050 grams of marijuana, 9,282 grams of marijuana, 2,308 grams of cocaine, and 890 grams of marijuana.

In court, all three men pleaded not guilty and appeared without legal representation. Due to the firearm-related charges, the court denied bail. They were remanded to the Belize Central Prison until their next court appearance on July 22, 2024.

Before leaving the courtroom, Flowers inquired about the trial date. The Senior Magistrate explained the legal procedures, emphasizing that the prosecution must produce a case file before a trial date can be set.

During the raid on Saint George’s Caye, police found five firearms, but the men were charged in connection with only one firearm, 21 rounds of ammunition, and the seized drugs.
