By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The National Evangelical Association of Belize has spoken out on the charges against Pastor Kevin Tzib.
In a statement, the Association said abuse situations like this are alarming and shameful to the church as a whole.
It described the alleged offence as unacceptable and criminal, adding that the courts will determine guilt and any consequences.
“We pray for justice for the victims in this situation, as well as healing,” the statement said.
Tzib, the founder of Dunamis Ministries in Santa Elena, has been charged with six counts of sexual assault and one count of unnatural crime following reports from four young men.
The case has prompted criticism that churches have been too quiet on sexual abuse allegations involving religious leaders, with suggestions that concerns in this case had been raised within the church for some time before reaching police.
