AL96 following closely behind Hurricane Beryl in Atlantic

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are closely monitoring AL96 as it follows in the same path of Hurricane Beryl in the Atlantic.

AL96 is producing showers and thunderstorms over 1000 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands.

Environmental conditions appear marginally conducive for additional development of this system, and a tropical depression could form by the middle part of this week while it moves generally westward at 15 to 20 mph across the central and western tropical Atlantic.

This system has a 60% chance of formation through the next 7 days.
