By Aaron Humes: Police have formally arrested and charged 29-year-old Akeem Alfred Richards with the murders of Clint Castillo and Andrew Muns. The two men were shot and killed on July 6, 2024.
Richards, a construction worker from the Cayo District, faces two counts of murder. He joins Jamal Hyde, 22, charged with abetment to murder a few days after the incident.
Castillo, 41, and Muns, 32, were socializing in a yard in Cotton Tree, Cayo District, when an argument reportedly started. One of the men present opened fire with a firearm, immediately killing Castillo and injuring Muns, who died a few weeks later.
The incident took place while the village was under a State of Emergency.
