By Zoila Palma: On March 2, 2026, a drone pilot training was held in Blue Creek.
The training was facilitated by Bill Harder and DJI Academy.
Extension officers from the Ministry of Agriculture Extension Service from Orange Walk and Corozal attended, as well as personnel from IICA, SIRDI, BSCFA, farmers from Ship yard , Blue Creek, BSI, and some from Spanish Lookout.
The Ministry of Agriculture noted that drones are adapted more and more for use in agriculture thus training and certification has become more important for the sector.
The Ministry noted that more sessions in this technology will become available to the public in the near future.
