A wet and unsettled day ahead for Belize

By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans should keep an umbrella close today, as moist and unstable conditions move in and bring a wet and cloudy day across the country.

According to the National Meteorological Service, skies will be cloudy with a few showers and thunderstorms expected around the country today, decreasing by this evening. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms should then redevelop over the south tonight, with isolated activity elsewhere.

Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 87 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) and a low of 78 (26 Celsius). Inland areas will be warmer, climbing to 91 degrees Fahrenheit (33 Celsius) and dropping to 74 (23 Celsius). In the hills, expect a high of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 Celsius) and a cooler low of 68 (20 Celsius).

At sea, winds will blow from the east to northeast at 10 to 15 knots, with seas ranging from light chop to choppy and waves of 2 to 5 feet.

On the tropical front, there is good news. No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the region during the next 48 hours.

Looking ahead to Wednesday and Wednesday night, skies will be partly cloudy with isolated showers or isolated thunderstorms developing.

Today’s high tides are at 9:42 AM and 11:22 PM, with a low tide at 5:21 PM and another low at 4:07 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:21 AM and will set at 6:31 PM. The forecast was issued by forecaster Crystal Rosalez.
