By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in the Orange Walk District are currently investigating a series of violent events that transpired on Sunday evening, December 28, in San Pablo Village.
According to official reports, the chaos began at approximately 5:13 p.m. in front of a Chinese-owned establishment. A physical altercation broke out between Tazo Calles and 23-year-old Israel Vasquez. Local resident Elio Cawich reportedly stepped in to diffuse the fight, momentarily ending the confrontation.
The situation took a darker turn shortly after when Vasquez’s brother arrived on the scene. Reports indicate he drove to Mr. Cawich’s residence and intentionally crashed into a parked vehicle. The suspects then allegedly began stoning the house and car with glass pint bottles, resulting in extensive damage to the windshield and windows of Cawich’s vehicle.
Israel Vasquez sustained a nose injury during the clash and was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital for medical attention. He has since been treated and released. Police have confirmed the matter is under investigation.
