By Breaking Belize News Staff: Twenty-one-year-old Brandon Christian Villamil, who is awaiting trial for the attempted murder of Ladyville resident Lionel Logan, is back in custody after being accused of violating the conditions of his High Court bail.

Villamil appeared unrepresented before a Magistrate in Belize City on Monday, November 2, where he was charged with one count of contempt of judicial order.

Police allege that Villamil failed to comply with a condition requiring him to report to the Ladyville Police Station twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Villamil pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate explained that she did not have the authority to revoke bail granted by the High Court. However, she declined to grant him bail on the new charge and indicated that he would be taken before a High Court judge to determine whether his existing bail should be revoked.

Villamil remained in custody pending that hearing.

As previously reported by Breaking Belize News, Villamil was charged alongside Akeem Ferguson in connection with the April 11, 2026 shooting and stabbing of 30-year-old Lionel Nigel Logan on Henry Street in Ladyville.

According to police, Logan was approached by two men and attacked, sustaining a stab wound to his lower back and a gunshot injury. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigators reported that Logan identified Ferguson as one of his attackers. Ferguson was subsequently arrested, while Villamil was charged in May with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm.

Villamil was initially remanded to prison but subsequently secured bail through the High Court.

In August, BBN reported that Ferguson had been denied bail for a third time, while Villamil remained free on High Court bail.

Villamil’s latest charge now places his freedom in jeopardy as he awaits a High Court determination on whether he breached the conditions of his release.
