By Zoila Palma:  Following Friday’s Sitting of the House of Representatives, Minister of Home Affairs Julius Espat said that Belize’s international partners have the data as it relates to Guatemala’s incursion in Belizean airspace on September 24.

“We just need to look at it closely. And we know it happened. And we have seen the… the products on, I think it was on your… on your station. It’s there. It’s a reality. And we have to sit down with the North American… our North American partners to find a way to solve it. I don’t think it can be 100%. It has never been 100% solved, but we can minimize it. I think the cooperation is a good one, but we can… we can better it. That… the plane scenario was true. It’s been proven to be true. And sometimes people try to underestimate and belittle… and the technology that youths have access to now, we are in the AI reality,” Espat said.

Espat says that the flight has been confirmed to have occurred.

“And you have to respect those, because they’re being confirmed… the… the… the CEO from Defence confirmed that it is so. And I think the Foreign Ministry is taking it up now at a different level, that you can say it’s not true from the other side. Well, that’s their issue. And… but the truth is it always set you free. And so the… everybody has the data. The North American partners have the data and we have the data… our Central American partners have the data. Even the young guy has it before everybody, it seems,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Guatemalan President continues to reiterate that such flight did not occur and said that the plane in question has been made available to the OAS for inspection.
