By Breaking Belize News Staff: Facebook was buzzing last night after a sexually explicit video allegedly featuring Belizean artist Stig Da Artist began making the rounds online. Stig has since fired back with a diss track aimed at his detractors, making serious allegations of his own and including lyrics that appear to contain threats of violence.
Stig quickly became the subject of countless jokes and memes online after a TikTok Live panel hosted by Giles, and featuring Corinth from TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, discussed the video and spilled plenty of tea.
Corinth is no stranger to the drama surrounding Stig. She previously appeared on 90 Day Fiancé as a relative of Stig’s former girlfriend, Aviva, and was among those who confronted him on the show over allegations that he had been involved with other women while dating Aviva — allegations Stig denied.
The TikTok Live reportedly drew more than 300 viewers at one point. Members of the panel allegedly later circulated the explicit video in a WhatsApp group chat, helping fuel its rapid spread across Belizean social media.
Stig’s 90 Day Fiancé ex, Aviva, was also present in the livestream and was invited to join the panel, joking, “this is too messy but y’all funny.” The live at various points also featured popular Belizean social media personalities including Ivey Prada and Urlese Belizean Gill.
The discussion had viewers in an uproar, with some jokingly renaming the artist “Stig Di Takis” in reference to the graphic nature of the video and the online reaction to its contents.
The controversy also comes on the heels of the release of Stig’s new album, adding another layer to the sudden explosion of attention surrounding the artist.
Was it all an elaborate publicity stunt, or simply social media chaos taking on a life of its own? And should violent threats made in diss tracks be taken seriously?
