By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 26 year old labourer of Benque Viejo Town has been charged with possession of controlled drugs following a mobile patrol in Orange Walk Town.
Police say officers were on patrol along Staines Alley around 8:50pm on Monday when an officer noticed a man coming out of a well known drug base.
The patrol stopped and the officer approached, identifying himself and informing the man that a search would be conducted for illegal drugs or firearms.
In the right front pocket of his three quarter pants, officers found a small transparent ziplock bag with a green alien face design containing a powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
He was shown the finding, informed of the reason for his detention, cautioned and placed under arrest.
At the Orange Walk Police Station the substance was weighed in his presence at 0.28 grams. It was sealed in a labelled envelope and handed over to the exhibit keeper via chain of custody form.
Marco Antonio Guillen was charged with possession of controlled drugs. He was cautioned and chose to remain silent.
