By Zoila Palma:  Bulridge Ltd.’s Forest Manager, Nidia Valdez, has been selected as a scholarship recipient to participate in the National Climate Adaptive Education Program (NCAEP), an initiative designed to strengthen climate adaptation and resilience knowledge in Belize.

The program was developed under the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness 13 Project and is managed by the Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) in partnership with Galen University.

The scholarship will provide Valdez with additional knowledge and skills that can be applied to sustainable forest and protected area management.

Bulridge Ltd. said the opportunity will strengthen Valdez’s capacity in climate adaptation and resilience, with direct relevance to the company’s work in managing forest resources. “This opportunity will strengthen knowledge and capacity in climate adaptation and resilience,” the company said.

The company also expressed confidence that Valdez’s participation will benefit conservation efforts in two of Belize’s key forest areas. “We look forward to the new knowledge, ideas, and innovative approaches she will bring to support the management of the Mountain Pine Ridge and Chiquibul Forest Reserves,” Bulridge Ltd. said.
