By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Ministry of E-Governance handed over a VEX V5 Classroom Super Robotics Kit to the University of Belize on Tuesday.

The donation supports the university’s Jaguar Tech Studio, an initiative focused on advancing student learning and innovation in robotics and technology.

The kit is a comprehensive educational robotics platform with more than 1,500 components, including a Robot Brain, controller, smart motors, a rechargeable battery and charger, sensors, and a range of structural and mechanical parts.

With access to the equipment, students will be able to move past theory and get hands on experience designing, building, programming, testing and refining robotic systems.

The Ministry said the partnership reflects its commitment to advancing digital transformation and strengthening digital skills across Belize, in line with the National Digital Agenda.

It added that practical competencies in programming, automation, robotics and artificial intelligence will be essential to Belize’s growth and competitiveness as technology reshapes industries and the future of work.

The Ministry says it will donate additional robotics kits to other organisations and educational institutions across the country.
