By Zoila Palma: Healthcare professionals from across Belize gathered in Belmopan, Punta Gorda, Belize City, and San Pedro for this year’s NCD Workshops.
The workshops were held from June 30 to July 3, 2026 under the Project for strengthening metabolic chronic disease prevention and control systems.
“This year marked another exciting milestone as we welcomed healthcare professionals from both the public and private sectors, creating more opportunities to exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration in metabolic chronic disease care,” Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize said.
Taiwan Technical Mission noted that over the last 3 years, the workshops have reached healthcare professionals in 6 districts and San Pedro, bringing continuous professional development to nearly every region of Belize.
Participants explored practical approaches to metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension, CKM syndrome, diabetic foot care, health education, and even AI tools for health promotion.
