By Breaking Belize News Staff: Nicole Gilda McDonald, the 38-year-old mother of five accused in a cyberbullying case involving former Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, was back in court on Wednesday, where she learned that her matter will now proceed on indictment at the High Court.

McDonald, who remains on remand at the Belize Central Prison, appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate in Court #2. The court was informed that the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions had reviewed her case file and, by memorandum dated June 30, 2026, directed that the matter proceed by indictment instead of being dealt with summarily in the lower court.

McDonald was provided with full disclosure, consisting of 30 pages of documents. Her next court date in that matter is August 14, 2026, when a preliminary inquiry is expected to be held.

The case is one of several matters now before the court involving McDonald. She was previously on bail in the cyberbullying case, but that bail was revoked on June 8, 2026, after she was charged in another matter involving allegations of harm against a doctor and aggravated assault against a nurse at the Matron Roberts Clinic in Belize City.

The court record shows that only days earlier, on June 5, McDonald had been granted bail on six other charges, including aggravated assault, common assault, damage to property, insulting words and wounding. One of her bail conditions was that she was not to be arrested and charged with any new offense while out on bail.

McDonald has pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.

She is due back in court on July 27, 2026, for the six charges from the June 5 matter, and on August 3, 2026, in connection with the alleged clinic assault.

McDonald has said she feels victimized and targeted. She also told the court that her two eldest children are now caring for their younger siblings while she remains on remand. According to McDonald, three of her children are minors, and the father of two of them is deceased.

McDonald was further remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
