By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Belizeans can enjoy a largely fair day, but forecasters say to make the most of it, as conditions are set to turn somewhat moist and unstable tonight.
According to the National Meteorological Service, mainly fair weather will continue for most of today. Skies will be sunny with cloudy spells, becoming mostly cloudy tonight. Any showers or thunderstorms will be isolated during the day, before a few showers and thunderstorms move in to affect most areas tonight, especially the central and southern portions of the country.
Temperatures along the coast will reach a high of 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) and a low of 81 (27 Celsius). Inland areas will be warmer, climbing to 92 degrees Fahrenheit (33 Celsius) and dropping to 73 (23 Celsius). In the hills, expect a high of 81 degrees Fahrenheit (27 Celsius) and a cooler low of 68 (20 Celsius).
At sea, winds will blow from the east at 10 to 15 knots, with light chop and waves of 2 to 4 feet.
On the tropical front, there is good news. No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the region during the next 48 hours.
Looking ahead to Monday and Monday night, skies will be partly cloudy with isolated showers or isolated thunderstorms during the day, followed by an increase in showers over the south Monday night.
Today’s low tides are at 7:21 AM and 8:05 PM, with a high tide at 1:12 PM and another high at 2:14 AM tomorrow. The sun rose at 5:23 AM and will set at 6:31 PM. The forecast was issued by forecaster Derrick Rudon.
