By Zoila Palma: On June 29, 2026, officials from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology (MoECST), in collaboration with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) conducted a tour of ongoing construction works at Orange Walk Technical High School.
The visit included Ramon Cervantes, Minister of State; Yolanda Gongora, Chief Education Officer; Ingrid Acosta, Senior Project Coordinator; Elbert Ellis and other officials of the CDB, alongside members of the Project Execution Unit.
The team inspected the progress of two ferro-concrete structures currently under construction, which form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen and modernize the school’s infrastructure.
The Ministry says that this investment reflects continued commitment to expanding safe, resilient, and future-ready learning environments for students in Orange Walk and beyond.
