By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 38-year-old labourer from Gardenia Village is tonight behind bars at the Belize Central Prison after being denied bail on charges of raping a woman twice within a two-day span.
The accused, George Cecil Bull, a resident of Mile 22 on the Philip Goldson Highway, appeared unrepresented on Monday morning before Senior Magistrate Mannon Dennison in Court #6. He faces two indictable counts of rape. Due to the severe nature of the offenses, no plea was taken during the arraignment.
The prosecution heavily objected to bail being granted due to the prevalence of crimes of rape, domestic violence and the likelihood of re-offence given that he was charged twice for the same complainant and concerns that he might interfere with the alleged victim. Senior Magistrate Dennison upheld the objection, ordering that Bull be remanded in custody until August 12, 2026.
According to reports, the allegations stem from two separate incidents involving a 29-year-old cashier. Bull allegedly entered the woman’s home on Monday, June 22, 2026, and forced her to have sexual intercourse. It is further alleged that two days later, on Wednesday, June 24, Bull entered her residence again and forced her to have sex a second time.
The victim, who is reportedly known to the accused through a prior relationship, officially reported the matter to the police on Friday, June 26, 2026.
