By Zoila Palma: Leader of Opposition Tracy Panton has expressed solidarity with the Government and people of Venezuela following last night’s earthquakes.
“Lives have been lost, livelihoods destroyed, and communities shattered. Yet, even in this moment of profound grief and uncertainty, the Venezuelan people must find the strength, courage, and resolve to rebuild and to push forward.
Venezuela has always been a good friend to Belize. Over the years, we have gained much from the diplomatic relationship we share, and even in its own most difficult times, the Government and People of Venezuela have made great sacrifices to support countries across this hemisphere,” Panton said.
Panton extended prayers for all Venezuelans including those mourning, those injured, those searching for loved ones, and for all those working tirelessly in rescue and recovery efforts.
“May there be comfort for the grieving; strength for the weary; protection and determination to guide the nation of Venezuela through the difficult days ahead,” Panton said.
