By Breaking Belize News Staff: Over recent days, leaked details from the Government of Belize’s smart stream payment system shows numerous invoices paid to family of Minister Oscar Mira and their companies in various Ministries.

Those screenshots show that the Government has paid for products and services from companies belonging to close relatives of Mira.

During an interview with 7news Belize, Prime Minister John Briceno said that he will request an audit of the Ministry of Defence for the period during which Mira was minister and added that this must be corrected.

“So, it is something that we have to address and I believe that we will address. And at the end of the day, the people will see also the tremendous amount of work that we continue to do.

At the end of the day people will say you know, we’re not perfect; no one is perfect. You are not perfect, you make a lot of mistakes like myself. I think that at the end of the day people will SEE through that and that we will have to correct this, we will correct it and we will make sure that we try to remain as strict as possible to continue serving the people of Belize,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also said that he would request a new board for RECONDEV, whose Chairman is Brian Mira.
