By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have formally arrested and charged 21-year-old Jalen Nunes of Dangriga Town following a joint firearm operation on Yampa Street.
According to police, the operation was conducted on Saturday, June 6, 2026, by personnel from the Special Patrol Unit, Dangriga Quick Response Team, and the Gang Intelligence, Investigation and Interdiction Unit.
During the search at a residence on Yampa Street, police reported finding a black 9mm pistol loaded with 14 live rounds of 9mm ammunition, along with a .38 revolver containing two live rounds of ammunition.
Nunes has since been charged with two counts of kept firearm without a gun license and two counts of kept ammunition without a gun license.
Police investigations continue.
