By Zoila Palma: Yusef Guerra has officially announced his candidacy for the UDP’s Mayoral candidate for Benque Viejo del Carmen.
Guerra will seek to challenge 2-term Mayor Jorge Rosales who has made history being the first Mayor of Benque Viejo del Carmen to serve 2 consecutive terms.
“I want to promote initiatives that strengthen health, education, the beautification of our town, and the creation of job opportunities for our people. I also want to promote social projects that benefit our senior citizens, children, youth, and single mothers, as well as sports in all its forms, because I am convinced that development should reach every home,” Guerra said.
“I dream of a different Benque Viejo, a modern, organized town full of opportunities. A municipality where hard work, transparency, and love for our land are the pillars of every action,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mayor Rosales, who has served since 2020, said his record in office reflects a continued focus on community leadership and addressing the needs of residents through municipal services and local development initiatives.
Both candidates are preparing for the 2027 municipal elections.
