By Zoila Palma: Last month, officers from the Labour Department, under the Ministry of Immigration, Governance and Labour engaged with communities, schools, businesses, and organizations across Belize through a series of Labour Education and Career Day sessions.
In Corozal, the Labour Department conducted a Labour Education Session at ITVET, sharing important information on the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees. The session was well received, and we extend our appreciation to the Corozal team for their commitment and professionalism.
The Labour Department also hosted a successful Labour Education Session at the conference room of Pelican Beach Resort in Dangriga, welcoming approximately 50 participants. The ceremony was chaired by Employment Officer Tarina Moody, with the opening prayer led by Roxana Flores. Opening remarks were delivered by Jordy Williams of the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while Senior Labour Officer Palacio facilitated the presentation.
The Labour Department also participated in Career Day activities at Santa Clara SDA School, where officers shared information about the Department’s work and encouraged students to explore future career opportunities.
The Labour Department extended gratitude to its dedicated staff for facilitating these initiatives.
