By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): The Belize Police Department is hunting for one of its own after an officer allegedly assaulted fellow colleagues during a violent confrontation.
Police Constable Louis Pascasio is wanted following a physical brawl in the parking lot of the Puma Gas Station on Freetown Road. The altercation began as a verbal dispute before escalating into physical violence. Officials state that Pascasio initiated the attack by striking an officer first.
Staff Officer ASP Stacy Smith confirmed that Eastern Division investigators have prepared criminal charges against the constable following a formal complaint.
“That investigation has resulted in charges being prepared for Mr. Pascasio in relation to aggravated assault and wounding as a consequence of a report made by a police officer,” ASP Smith stated.
While investigators could not confirm if Pascasio was under the influence, the entire incident was caught on camera. ASP Smith noted that gas station surveillance footage has been reviewed and directly guided the department’s decision to file charges.
Pascasio, who has a history of public controversy, remains at large as fellow officers work to take him into custody.
