By Zoila Palma: Today, the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB)joined the national media community in mourning the passing of veteran journalist Aaron Humes.
“For many years, Aaron was a valued presence at SIB press conferences, covering economic indicators, census updates, and survey releases with fairness and integrity. He consistently arrived prepared, attentive, and dedicated to providing accurate information to the public,” SIB noted.
“Aaron’s questions were thoughtful and often probing, exploring methodology, context, and the human implications behind the data. His principled journalism made official statistics meaningful and accessible to Belizeans. The Institute is deeply grateful for his role in translating technical releases into informed public understanding,” SIB expressed.
SIB says that Aaron will be sincerely missed at our press conferences and throughout Belize’s information landscape.
