By Breaking Belize News Staff: Santa Elena resident Steven O’Brien is calling on the Cayo Central Area Representative Alex Balona for a response to the conditions of the roads in the town.
“Mr. Area Representative, the people of Santa Elena, Cayo Central is asking for your whereabouts? One year has passed Sir, our streets are deplorable, lighting is not adequate, too many dark areas, you were put there to do a job Sir, kindly assist us with these important much needed works for progress,” O’Brien sad.
“We are not going to wait five years anymore, we will take necessary action if our cries are not heard and addressed,” he added.
Notably, O’Brien said that failure to improve road infrastructure among others in Santa Elena will result in him starting a campaign to boycott elections.
“We demand Better Streets, Better lighting, Better Drainage, Better maintenance of our parks and playgrounds from both Alex Balona/Sports Council and the Mayor and Councilors! All this before the next municipal election, failure to do so I will advocate for loyal Santa Eleneans to boycott elections,” he said.
O’Brien is the brother of UDP caretaker Mark O’Brien, and is also brother to Hugh O’Brien, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture.
