By Breaking Belize News Staff: Sixty-three-year-old Oscar Sabido is once again a convicted man after appearing in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for possession of a utensil used for smoking controlled drugs.
Sabido, who appeared unrepresented before the court last Friday, pleaded guilty to the charge after police say he was found in possession of a metal pipe adapted for smoking crack cocaine.
According to police, the latest bust occurred on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Taylor’s Alley, Belize City, where Sabido was allegedly found with a three-inch metal pipe used in connection with the smoking of a controlled drug.
This marks Sabido’s third conviction for a crack pipe in the month of May. During his court appearance, Sabido told the court he is a plumber living on Pelican Street, Belize City. However, just three days earlier, on Tuesday, May 12, he had appeared before the same court and reportedly gave an address in Esperanza Village, Cayo District.
Sabido again pleaded for leniency, asking the court to spare him jail time and instead impose a fine, telling the court that he is working and needed time to pay.
The court granted his request and fined him $300 plus a $5 cost of court. He was given until July 31, 2026, to pay, in default of which he will serve three months in prison.
Sabido was able to leave court a free man, but with another conviction added to his record.
