By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A Hattieville businessman is recovering at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital following a motorcycle accident along the John Smith Road in Ladyville on Saturday night.
Police say Orlan Evans, 33, was travelling from Ladyville toward Hattieville on a black Lifan motorcycle when he reportedly lost control while approaching a curve near the second pedestrian ramp.
Investigators believe the motorcycle collided with a roadside post, causing Evans to be flung into a nearby ditch. He was found suffering from injuries to the head and body and complained of severe pain to his right shoulder and hand.
A passerby reportedly witnessed the crash and immediately alerted authorities before remaining at the scene until police arrived.
Evans was later transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital by BERT personnel for medical treatment. Police say the motorcycle has since been impounded pending further investigations.
