“A matter that is no longer simply an information technology issue, but a national development imperative topic.
Belize is undergoing a significant digital transformation. Through our National Digital Agenda, we are modernizing public services, expanding digital access, strengthening digital identity initiatives, improving interoperability across government systems, and creating new opportunities for innovation and economic participation,” Minister Martinez explained.
Minister Martinez says that as Belize digitizes government and expand the digital economy, cybersecurity becomes the foundation of trust upon which this transformation depends.
“Without trust, citizens will hesitate to use digital services. Businesses will hesitate to innovate. International investors will hesitate to invest. And governments will struggle to deliver secure and resilient digital public services,” Minister Martinez added.
Minister Martinez notes that Belize has placed cyber security at the center of its national digital development strategy.
