Alexandre Arrechea’s “Tampa Theater” (sculpture, metal and video, 2026), a tribute to the iconic theater, is now permanently installed at Herman Massey Park in Tampa, Florida. The Tampa Theatre is a historic U.S. theater and city landmark in downtown Tampa. Designed as “an atmospheric theatre-style movie palace” by architect John Eberson, it opened in 1926.
The Cuban-born artist writes, “I am deeply grateful to the City of Tampa for the opportunity to bring this vision into the park. It is an honor to contribute to the city’s cultural landscape, and I sincerely appreciate the trust and support throughout this process.”
