By Breaking Belize News Staff: A second suspect has been charged in the murder of 19-year-old City technician Jamir Rudel Cambranes, who police say was lured to his death by individuals known to him.
Kameron Kareem Heusner, 21, was arraigned on Thursday morning in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he was read a single charge of murder in connection with Cambranes’ fatal shooting. Due to the nature of the offense, no plea was taken and Heusner was remanded to the Belize Central Prison. His next court date is set for June 22, 2026, when he is expected to appear alongside co-accused Kenrick Lindbergh Robinson, 19.
Police allege that Heusner was the driver of a silver Chevrolet Equinox seen in surveillance footage on the night Cambranes disappeared. The footage reportedly shows Cambranes entering the vehicle outside Robinson’s residence on Laura Dunn Street before it drove off toward the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road.
Cambranes was last heard from on the night of April 21, 2026, when he sent WhatsApp messages and images to his girlfriend, including a photo of the rear of the vehicle he later entered. When he stopped responding to calls and messages, his girlfriend used phone tracking to locate him along the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road. His body was later discovered in nearby bushes with multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators say additional footage shows Robinson returning home later that night and removing what is believed to be Cambranes’ bicycle. Robinson was previously charged with murder earlier this week.
According to police, the Equinox involved in the case had been rented to Heusner, and forensic processing of the vehicle yielded further evidence, including blood samples.
Authorities continue to build their case as both accused men remain on remand pending their next court appearance.
