By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a report of death threats made against a truck driver in the Orange Walk District.
The 36-year-old man, of Trial Farm Village, reported that on Thursday, April 9, around 7:30 p.m., he was at home with his family when his father-in-law allegedly entered his yard and began issuing threats.
He told police that the man threatened to kill him and claimed he would hire Mexican cartels to harm him, particularly when he travels to the Free Zone or the Santa Elena Border for work.
He further reported that the father-in-law also threatened to damage his truck in the presence of his family.
The complainant stated that this is not the first time such threats have been made but expressed heightened concern for his safety due to his frequent travel for work.
Police have recorded a statement, and the accused is currently wanted for questioning as investigations continue.
