By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a report of aggravated assault involving a 10-year-old child in Orange Walk Town.
According to reports, the child visited the Orange Walk Police Station on April 7 along with a parent, where an incident that allegedly occurred on April 1 at a residence in Orange Walk Town was reported.
The child stated that during a dispute between his father and stepmother, the situation escalated when she began scolding his sisters. When he intervened, he alleges that the woman grabbed him and dragged him to the kitchen.
While there, the child reported that she pointed a butter knife toward his chest, causing him to fear for his safety.
The child’s father reportedly intervened and removed the children from the home.
Police have recorded statements, and the accused has been identified as a person wanted for questioning as investigations continue
