By Aaron Humes: 17-year-old Alwin Marin Jr is missing tonight after his friend Jaheil Westby, 18, was recovered dead from the Port Loyola area this morning.
On Thursday, Marin Junior and Westby set off on separate horses for a day of fishing. When the two teenagers failed to return home, alarm bells began ringing. Westby’s body was located hours after his mother reported him missing, prompting fears for Marin’s safety.
Marin’s father reported that when police searched the area they had planned to fish, only the horses were recovered; additionally, they found Marin Jr.’s shirt and slippers.
Police are continuing their investigation into Westby’s death, while a search for Marin Jr. continues.
