By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a sudden death following a reported seizure incident on Monday morning in Orange Walk Town.

Reports indicate that around 9:50 a.m., authorities received information of a male person experiencing seizures on San Francisco Street. Police responded and were directed to a concrete apartment by an 83-year-old resident.

Upon arrival, officers observed a male person lying face up and unresponsive inside the apartment. The individual was later identified as a 40-year-old Belizean man of San Francisco Street.

Initial investigations revealed that earlier that morning, the man had been inside the apartment when he reportedly began trembling and collapsed to the floor. The woman present left to seek assistance, but upon her return, he was already unconscious.

Police noted that the deceased had reportedly been suffering from a high fever for approximately one month and was known to consume alcohol. He had reportedly sought medical attention at the Northern Regional Hospital the day before and was later released.

The man was pronounced dead at 11:44 a.m. by a medical doctor. No signs of injuries were observed, and authorities do not suspect foul play.

The body has been transported to the Northern Regional Hospital morgue, where a post mortem examination is pending.
