By Zoila Palma: Belize’s Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) now includes 128 active projects valued at more than $2.12 billion, with over half already executed, Minister Osmond Martinez shared during his budget presentation.
Martinez said infrastructure development remains a key component, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the portfolio, alongside investments in economic services, social protection, and public administration.
“At the end of December 2025, the PSIP comprises 128 active projects valued at over BZ$2.12 billion,” he noted.
He emphasized that the government’s development strategy extends beyond infrastructure to broader national transformation, including planning and policy coordination.
“This Ministry… reflects the distinctive role… to not only finance projects but to fundamentally reshape the Belizean economy,” Martinez said.
Martinez also announced ongoing work on Plan Belize 2.0, which will guide national development from 2026 to 2030 across five priority areas, including economic transformation and climate resilience.
“This updated strategy builds on the foundation… and focuses on five key pillars,” he stated.
