By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a fire in northern Belize reported this morning, Wednesday.
At about 3:00 a.m. police responded to a report of a fire at Chico’s Tortilla Factory on 7th Avenue, Corozal Town. Upon arrival, they observed a 20-foot by 60-foot building, which is used for the frying of tortillas, engulfed in flames.
Initial investigations revealed that about 2:55 a.m., smoke was seen coming from the building, at which time the police were alerted. Personnel from the Fire Department extinguished the fire.
The value of the damage is not yet known.
