By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Authorities are investigating a motorcycle accident involving a police officer that occurred in Orange Walk Town on Wednesday night.
Police visited the Northern Regional Hospital emergency ward where they saw 25-year-old Belizean police constable David Banner receiving treatment for minor injuries.
Banner reported that he was riding his red Lifan 250 motorcycle along San Andres Street heading toward Philip Alvarez Park when he collided with the side of a road barrier.
The collision caused him to fall from the motorcycle, resulting in scrapes to his right hand and elbow and a small cut behind his head.
Medical personnel attended to the officer and issued a medico form.
Police say traffic investigators are still working to confirm whether the motorcycle is insured and properly licensed.
Authorities are also verifying whether the officer was in possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of the accident.
The investigation into the traffic incident remains ongoing.
