By Zoila Palma: The Government of Belize announced during the Budget presentation on March 10, 2026, that the Healthy Start Feeding Programme is being expanded to support more than 20,000 students nationwide.
The Ministry of Education says that it remains firmly committed to reduce hunger and ensure inclusive and equitable access to quality education for all children.
In addition to covering meal-related expenses, the Ministry will also allocate funding to schools for upgrading kitchen equipment and carrying out infrastructure repairs.
