By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Napoles FC and Belmopan FC drew 1–1 on Saturday night as the Premier League of Belize opened the second round of the 2026 Closing Championship at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan. The result contrasts with their first‑round meeting, which Napoles won 2–1, but this time the match ended in a deadlock.

Napoles struck first in the 30th minute when #11 Daijon Daniels finished a well‑constructed attack to put the home side ahead. They carried the 1–0 advantage into halftime after a composed defensive performance.

Belmopan responded early in the second half, and their pressure paid off in the 54th minute when Cyril Engmann equalized. Both sides pushed hard in the closing stages, but neither could find the breakthrough and the second‑round opener closed 1–1.

On Sunday with two matches: Benque United FC fell 2-1 to Progresso FC at the FFB Stadium, while Wagiya SC recorded their first victory beating Port Layola FC 2-1 at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga.
