By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Champions Yo Creek United FC will open the Orange Walk Football Association Men’s First Division Closing Championship 2025–26 on Saturday, March 7, 2026, while sub‑champions San Jose Pumas FC will close out the Week 1 schedule on Sunday evening.
The OWFA kicks off its Closing Season this weekend with six matches across Groups A and B at the Louisiana Football Field. Supporters can expect a competitive start as teams return to action following last season’s dramatic finish.
Yo Creek United, who lifted the title in the previous campaign, begin their title defence on Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 pm, when they face Santa Cruz FC in the opening fixture of Group A.
The action continues on Sunday with four matches, culminating in the appearance of San Jose Pumas FC, last season’s runners‑up. The Pumas will take the field in the final match of Week 1 at 5:00 PM, when they meet Mi Gente FC in Group B.
The full Week 1 schedule features:
- Saturday, March 7
7:30 pm – Santa Cruz FC vs Yo Creek United FC (Group A)
9:30 pm – Progresso FC vs San Estevan Soccer Team (Group B)
- Sunday, March 8
11:00 am – Guinea Grass FC vs Trinidad FC (Group A)
1:00 pm – Louisiana FC vs San Jose FC (Group B)
5:00 pm – Mi Gente FC vs San Jose Pumas FC (Group B)
Entrance is $7.00 for all matches.
