By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belmopan FC earned a valuable home victory in the Premier League of Belize – 2025–2026 Closing Championship, defeating Benque United FC 3–1 on Saturday night at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan.
Forward Jaheim Mena delivered a standout performance, scoring all three goals for Belmopan. He opened the scoring in first‑half stoppage time (45+2) to send the home side into the break with a 1–0 lead.
Mena struck again in the 57th minute, doubling the advantage, and completed his hat trick in the 73rd minute to put Belmopan firmly ahead at 3–0. Benque United responded in the 76th minute through José Miguel García, but the visitors could not close the gap.
Belmopan FC closed out the match to secure a 3–1 win and strengthen their position in the Closing Championship.
